Skilled Professionals Directory (“S.P.D.”), an application operated and owned by BAAANET IT INC. (the “Service” or “We”), recognizes the importance of our users’ privacy. We believe that privacy is more than an issue of compliance, it is one of trust. We strive to manage your personal information based on our basic belief of respect for the individual.

Our goal is to provide clear, prominent, and easily accessible information about our privacy practices. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to customer information obtained by in connection with our operations.

  • How your information is used and protected;
  • When and with whom we disclose your information; and
  • The choices you can make about how we collect, use, and disclose your information.


We may collect personal information and other information about you through our Service to deliver the products and services you request and to help improve your experience with our Service. We strive to limit the amount of personal information collected to support the intended purpose of the collection. By using our Service, you are authorizing us to gather, parse and retain data related to the provision of our Service; the information may be sent to servers located in Canada and other countries around the world.

“Personal information” means information that identifies, or could be reasonably associated with you. The personal information we collect may include your name, age, birth date, email, mailing address, phone number, or financial information. Further, we may be required to collect information to comply with legal requirements.

We collect personal information from you in a variety of ways when you interact with S.P.D. and its agents. They include when you:

  • Create an account;
  • Make an in App purchase;
  • Conduct a transaction where we collect information, including when required by law (such as the sale of product or service to those only of the age of majority);
  • Request customer service or contact us;
  • Submit a S.P.D. story, testimonial, rating or review, or other user-generated content that may be posted on the App;
  • Participate in a contest, sweepstake, promotion, or survey; or
  • Otherwise submit personal information to us along with any related content of the communication.

S.P.D. may also collect your location information from your device when you download or use our Service. We may collect and store any personal information you provide while using our Service or provide in some other manner. You may also provide us photos, a personal description and information about your gender and preferences for job recommendations. If you chat or video chat (collectively referred to as “Chat” or “Chats”) with other users of our Service, you provide us the content of your Chats, and if you contact us with a customer service or other inquiry, you provide us with the content of that communication.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive personal information about you from other sources as well. Examples of these sources are entities that can help us correct or supplement our records, improve the quality or personalization of our service to you, and help prevent or detect fraud. In addition, we may collect information from consumer reporting agencies or other service providers if you obtain certain financial products.

Automated Information Collection

We receive and store certain types of information when you interact with us through our App, emails, and advertising. The purpose of this information is to allow the App to work correctly, to evaluate use of the App, and to support App analytics and marketing campaigns. Some examples include:

  • Technical information such as your IP address, device ID and type, your browser type and language, the operating system used by your device, access times, your mobile device’s geographic location while our application is actively running, and the referring website address.
  • “Cookies” to recognize you as you use or return to our Service. This is done so that we can provide a continuous and more personalized experience for you. A cookie is a small text file that a website or email may save to your browser and store on your hard drive. Through the use of a cookie, we also may automatically collect information about your activity on our Service, such as the pages you visit, the time and date of your visits and the links you click. If we advertise, we (or third parties) may use certain data collected on our Service to show you S.P.D. advertisements on other sites or applications.


We provide areas on our Service where you can post information about yourself and others and communicate with others. Such postings are governed by our Terms of Use. Also, whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information on publicly viewable pages, that information will be publicly available and can be collected and used by others. For example, if you post your email address, you may receive unsolicited messages. We cannot control who reads your non-private posting or what other users may do with the information you voluntarily post, so we encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your personal information.


S.P.D. uses your information to offer and provide you with products and services and to support our core business functions. These include internal business processes, marketing, authentication, loss and fraud prevention, public safety, legal functions, to fulfill your requests for products and services and communicate with you about those requests; to register and service your account; to administer surveys, sweepstakes, contests, and promotions; to provide customer service and alert you to service information; to help us improve and customize our Service and advertising; to send you information about our products, services, and promotions; and to protect the security or integrity of our websites and our business.

To accomplish these purposes, we may combine personal and non-personal information we collect online with offline information, including information from third parties. We may transfer or disclose your information within our corporate family of companies for these purposes.


S.P.D. does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only disclose your personal information with your prior consent or under the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We may disclose or otherwise make available personal information about you to service providers that help with our business operations. Examples are venues, payment card processors, and companies that help us improve our product and service offerings and our websites. Your personal information may be stored and processed by our service providers in Canada or other locations where the service providers, S.P.D., or independent vendors maintain facilities. We require our service providers to keep your information secure. In addition, our service providers may not use or disclose personal information for any purpose other than providing the services on our behalf.

Legal Requirements and Protection of Our Company and Others

We may disclose your information in other special circumstances. These include situations when the sharing is necessary to protect the safety, property, or other rights of S.P.D., our customers, our associates, or any other person, or where otherwise required or permitted by law. Examples include protecting the health or safety of customers, or addressing crimes committed through the service offered by S.P.D., or otherwise. S.P.D. may provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Marketing Purposes

From time to time with your consent, we may disclose information with carefully selected companies who may offer you products and services of interest. You may opt in to this sharing under the “Your Choices” section below.

Business Transfers

We may transfer any information we have about you in connection with a merger or sale (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of S.P.D. or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control.

Other Users

When you register with S.P.D., your account will be viewable by other users of the Service. Other users will be able to view information you have provided, such as your photos, your name, your age, approximate number of miles away, and your personal description. If you Chat with another user that person will be able to see your Chat and available information. If you make posts or information public on the Service other Users will be able to view that information.

Aggregated and/or non-personal information.

We may use and share non-personal information we collect. We may also share it with other related companies and third parties to develop and deliver targeted advertising on our Service and on websites or applications of third parties, and to analyze and report on advertising you see. We may combine non-personal information we collect with additional non-personal information collected from other sources. We also may share aggregated, non-personal information, or personal information in hashed, non- human readable form, with third parties, including advisors, advertisers and investors, for the purpose of conducting general business analysis or other business purposes.


You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but that may result in you being unable to use certain features of our Service because such information may be required in order for you to register as a user; purchase products or services; participate in a contest, promotion, survey, or sweepstakes; ask a question; or initiate other transactions.

Our Service may also deliver notifications to your phone or mobile device. You can disable these notifications by going into “App Settings” on the app or by changing the settings on your mobile device.

You can also control information collected by cookies. You can delete or decline cookies by changing your browser settings. Click “help” in the toolbar of most browsers for instructions. Remember that this make effect the quality of your experience with our Service.


S.P.D. takes reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate and complete. You can access or update your personal information, including contact or account information, in the following ways:

  • If you have created an account with S.P.D., you have the ability to review and update your personal information within our Service by opening your account and going to settings. More information about how to contact us is provided below.
  • You also may close your account at any time by visiting the "Settings" page for your account. If you close your account, we will retain certain information associated with your account for analytical purposes and recordkeeping integrity, as well as to prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Use, take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of our Service or our users, or take other actions otherwise permitted by law. In addition, if certain information has already been provided to third parties as described in this Privacy Policy, retention of that information will be subject to those third parties' policies.
  • Contact us at the email or postal address listed in the “Contact Us” section at the bottom of this Policy. Please include your current contact information, the information you are interested in accessing, and your requested changes. We will provide you the personal information requested if reasonably available, unless it infringes on the privacy of other individuals and subject to reasonable limitations provided by law and internal procedures. Otherwise we will describe the types of information we typically collect. We will provide access and make changes you request, or will provide an explanation of what actions we will be able to take with regard to the request.

Securing your information is a S.P.D. priority. We use reasonable security measures to help protect the confidentiality of personal information.

However, no system can be completely secure. Therefore, although we take steps to secure your information, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information, Chats, or other communications will always remain secure. Users should also take care with how they handle and disclose their personal information and should avoid sending personal information through insecure email.

Online Protections

Your account information is protected by the password you use to access your online account. Please keep this password confidential. We also use a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). If your browser is capable of SSL (and most are), your account information will be protected during transport across the Internet.

When you enter a secure portion of a website, which is any page containing any of your account information, an image of a closed lock or a solid key should appear in the bottom bar of your browser window. If you click on this image, a small pop-up window displaying website security information will appear. This display indicates that your personal information is transmitted in encrypted form to a S.P.D. web server.

Hard Copy and Electronic Storage Protections

Personal information that is maintained in our offices is subject to physical, administrative, and technical controls as well. If hard copies of sensitive personal information are retained, they are maintained in locked locations or cabinets with similar restrictions for electronic storage. When disposed of, the information is shredded, destroyed, erased, or otherwise sought to be made unreadable.

S.P.D., its agents, independent vendors and service providers, protect payment card information we collect during transactions. We comply with industry standards that require safeguards for handling and securing customer information. These include using secure networks; encryption or other protection of cardholder data; physical and technical access controls; monitors and tests of security systems; and information security policies.


There may be places on our Service where you may click on a link to access other websites that do not operate under this Privacy Policy. For example, if you click on an advertisement on our Service, you may be taken to a website that we do not control.

These third- party websites may independently solicit and collect information, including personal information, from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those websites. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third-party websites you visit by clicking on the “privacy” link typically located at the bottom of the webpage you are visiting.


This Privacy Policy does not create rights enforceable by third parties or require disclosure of any personal information relating to users of the website.


We are committed to protecting children’s online privacy. Our website is general audience website that is not geared towards children. In order to protect the privacy of children, the S.P.D. website does not knowingly collect personal information from people under the age of 18. Please contact us via the “Contact Us” section of this Policy if you believe we may have collected information from your child and we will work to delete it.


Personal information about our users may be processed and stored in Canada or any other country in which S.P.D., its independent vendors or service providers maintain facilities. Globally, S.P.D. requires independent vendors to protect your personal information, regardless of where it is stored, in accordance with local laws and our policies.

If you are visiting our Service from outside Canada, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada where our servers are located and our central database is operated. By using our services, you understand and agree that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this privacy policy.


We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we post changes to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
